Work in Israel
In Israel one of the first of such programs was set up at Tel-Aviv University in the field of cancer research, as well as at the Pulmonary Institute of Chaim Sheba Medical Center, Tel-Hashomer Hospital, in the treatment of asthma.
The independent research center was opened on Feb 4, 2000. It had been built and organised by Chinese, Israeli and American professors and doctors. The Center of International Chinese Medicine Cancer Research in Israel, and the Pulmonary Institute of Chaim Sheba Medical Center, Tel-Hashomer Hospital, are both supported by the Government of Israel and a number of international research institutes.
In both places the research results have supported the effective use of Chinese Medicine and emphasised the importance of continuing and expanding these integrative research efforts.
The seven founding members of the center in Israel were, with Dr. Li HongFen MD, Professor Gerry Boam M.D, Professor Shamargar, Ben Eliyahu Ph.D, Dr.Yossi Brenner M.D, Dr.Yair Maimon Ph.D, Dr. Dan De Medina Ph.D, Lea Kedem Counselor and Carol Sterling. Others at the Center include scientists and investigators in the fields of cell biology and oncology, as well as pulmonary medicine.
A board of three persons administers the Center and all work is carried out according to the highest standards of modern research and as prescribed by the law. More than 20,000 patients joined the research from 40 countries.
